The route covers grassland, pastures, ski pistes and trails across scree slopes without any particular difficulty. The final section is equipped with a fixed rope to guarantee participants’ safety as well as under the watchful eye of qualified mountain guides and the Alpine Rescue service.
The race lies in the heart of the Stelvio National Park, Italy’s largest natural park, and enjoys stunning views across the Ortles-Cevedale mountain range. For supporters, a cable car is available to watch the race and cheer the athletes all the way to the top.
